We are very happy to announce that Copenhagen Games will host a special edition of EDU Cup - a cup solely for educational institutions and their students. In the EDU Cup, teams of students from the same school can battle it out against other schools’ teams in either Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or League of Legends.

CS:GO

The CS:GO tournament consists of a single round-robin group stage where the top 2 teams of each group will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will conclude with a Grand Final on Saturday 11th of April at 15:00 where the two best teams of the tournament will face off against each other.

All matches in the CS:GO tournament will be BO3 (best of 3).

League of Legends

The LoL tournament will be Summoner’s Rift with Draft Mode. The tournament will begin with a group stage where all matches are BO3 (best of 3). The top 2 teams from every group will advance to the playoffs stage where all matches as well will be BO3.

The playoffs will conclude with a Grand Final on Saturday 11th of April at 15:00 where the 2 best teams of the tournament will face off against each other in a BO5 (best of 5).

Background

EDU Cup is created and hosted by the Danish esport site and tournament organizer, eSport.dk. EDU Cup is at the moment running on its 8th season.

In the EDU Cup, teams of five scholars from the same school or educational institution participate in either a CS:GO or LoL tournament for a chance to bring home the EDU Cup trophy to their school.

In the last two seasons, eSport.dk has had the pleasure of having a local school hosting the Grand Finals with a great live event welcoming both the Grand Final participants and a live audience.
