Unfortunately, Heroic has decided to withdraw from the CS:GO Main tournament at Copenhagen Games 2019. We are working on our next step and will let you know more as soon as we can.
Heroic has released the following statement:
Heroic’s CS:GO-team regretfully informs tournament organizers and our Danish fans that we wont be able to compete in Copenhagen Games 2019. The sole reason for this is due to scheduling and changes made to our planning and flights from another event.
Words can’t express how dearly we wanted to play in front our home fans, on home soil. A great event, with a fantastic crowd, made by amazing organizers.
Adam “friberg” Friberg says:
“It’s very unfortunate that we wont make it. Our management tried their best to find a flight connection or even a solution with us going to another airport in the UK to catch a flight, but with a match ending so late on Thursday night we would be able to sleep less than an hour between Thursday and Friday. Copenhagen Games is special to all of us, and I'm sorry that we couldn’t make the schedule work.”
Director Erik Askered says:
“It’s a real shame that we won’t be able to go. We took great pride in being invited to such an event as Copenhagen Games, but unfortunately it’s impossible for our players to perform on the level they wish without sleep. There are an incredible amount of tournaments being played across the world right now, and unfortunately this is the backside of esports growing quickly, and the oversaturation of tournaments right now. Heroic is on a set path to the top, and therefore we have to prioritize as best as we can. We understand our Danish fans will be disappointed, and so are we. We look forward to playing in front of you soon.”
