This Easter, esports event Copenhagen Games is being held for the 10th time. To celebrate this anniversary we are going forward with a long-planned expansion, that has not been seen before in the world of esports.
Copenhagen Games is expanding with a tournament in Herning, which will be happening at the same time as the main event in Copenhagen.
At gaming event GameSpawn in Herning, the people of Jutland will be able to participate online in the big CS:GO tournament at Copenhagen Games, where the 4 best teams from the main tournament will meet the 4 invited world-class teams live at the big main stage of Copenhagen Games in Lokomotivværkstedet.
“At GameSpawn, we’ve felt how gaming has become more competetive and that more of our participants want more competetive tournaments. That’s why we’re happy that we can now offer the Copenhagen Games tournament so even the people of Jutland can participate in such a large and professional tournament as well.” says Patrick Kerwood, the organizer of the Copenhagen Games tournament in Herning."
If some of the tournament’s best teams should happen to be in Herning; Copenhagen Games will bring the talented players to Lokomotivværkstedet in Copenhagen, where the winner will be crowned.
At Copenhagen Games, we are also excited to expand the event by facilitating a part of our popular CS:GO tournament in Herning.
“Seen from a global viewpoint this is completely unique. It has never been attempted this way and of course, there are some technical and logistic challenges, since the participants are playing online against others who are playing locally in Copenhagen. If this concept works, the ambition is that we will expand with more places around the country - maybe working with the kommuner, local organizations and local businesses.” finishes CEO of Copenhagen Games, Zahid Butt.
