It’s no secret that we’re amping up our CS:GO Main tournament this year. In cooperation with our main sponsor Waoo, we’ve upgraded our streaming production, on stage setup and not least: our prize pool is which is guaranteed at no less than 100.000$. Naturally, we always hoped that our team invites would reflect this increased investment and it certainly does with our first confirmed acceptance from Danish powerhouse North.

Professional CS:GO teams are always on the road, the world is their playground. Luckily, fans can follow their exploits on online streams but there’s still something special about seeing it all live, to hear the roar of the crowd and feel the tension between the players. We wanted more than anything to give give Danish CS:GO fans this experience, to give them the chance to see their heroes live and now they can when Team North tries to conquer Bella Center Copenhagen this Easter!

Building and supporting the local Danish community, not least in Copenhagen, is a natural priority for us and luckily North feels the same way. Team North CEO Christian Sørensen explains:

“Playing abroad is always a fun experience but there's something quite special about playing at home, about playing in front of a Danish audience. That's why we're so excited to announce our participation at Copenhagen Games 2018. It gives our wonderful Danish community the chance to see us live and we're looking forward to seeing all our dedicated North fans in Bella Center Copenhagen this Easter!"

Historically, Copenhagen Games have hosted epic finals with Danish team and we’re hoping to do so again this year, says CEO Zahid Butt:

“There’s always something special about the main tournament final, it caps off months and months of hard work from our entire organisation. However, there’s always a special kind of magic surrounding a final where a Danish team faces off against a top tier global name - when that happens, you can feel the concrete vibrating under your feet. Naturally, we would love to see a repeat of a final like that but invited teams can take nothing for granted, you have to earn it. The road to the final is hard and we’ve had plenty of underdog upsets in that past. It's going to be a very exciting tournament this year!"

Now what remains to answer is, who will Team North face? Apart from our talented Open Tournament qualifiers, we still have three invites to reveal, three top teams answering the challenge from the Nordic giants. So stay tuned to our webpage and social media outlets and see who Team North will battle for the crown of our Waoo CS:GO Main Tournament!
