We are pleased to announce that Team Fortress 2 will return to Copenhagen Games 2020


Tuesday 7th of April

  • 18:00: Signups close.


Wednesday 8th of April

  • 19:00 - Players sign in. Invited players need to be available for team shots.
  • 20:00: Meeting for team leaders.


Thursday 9th of April

  • 10:00: Tournament starts


Friday 10th of April

  • 11:00: Tournament continues


Saturday 11th of April

  • 12:00: Lower Bracket Finals
  • 19:00 Grand Final


Tournament Format

  • Maximum of 8 invite teams.
  • Unlimited number of teams at the open tournament.
  • Playoffs consist of the invite teams and the winners of the group stage at the open tournament.
  • There will be a B tournament for teams that did not qualify for playoffs.


Tournament Rules

1. General

1.1 All times posted are in CEST.

1.2 All communication is to be done via the Copenhagen Games TF2 Discord. Link:


2. Players

2.1 All team leaders are to be on the Copenhagen Games TF2 Discord.

2.2 All players have to record POV demos.

2.3 Offensive nicknames and avatars are not allowed.

2.4 Offensive content in-game is not allowed.

2.5 All players have to provide their SteamID64.

2.6 In official matches, players must use their actual ETF2L/RGL nickname. It has to be easily readable for anyone spectating or casting the game. No fake-nicks or similar are allowed.

2.7 Players are not allowed to livestream or in any other way broadcast their matches from the event!


3. Teams

3.1 Teams are allowed to have 8 players for the 6v6 competition and 11 players for the 9v9 tournament on their roster.

3.2 Teams are allowed to play with all players on their roster during a tournament.

3.3 Teams are not allowed to add players to the roster during the tournament.

3.4 If opponents agree, teams are allowed to use a maximum of 2 mercs that are not on the tournament roster during the group stage.

3.5 If opponents agree, teams are allowed to use a maximum of 1 mercs that are not on the tournament roster during the playoffs stage. The players in question cannot still be on another roster in the tournament.


4. Match Rules

4.1 All matches are to be played with the latest version of the ETF2L config.

4.2 All matches are to be played with the latest version of the ETF2L whitelist.

4.3 Class limits are 2 for each of scout and soldier; 1 for all other classes (6v6).

4.3.1 Class limits are 1 of each of the 9 classes for the Highlander competition.

4.4 In case teams are not assigned a LAN server by the tournament admins, teams decide together which server they want to play on. If there is no agreement to be found, the tournament admins will decide.

4.5 The winning team is responsible for sending tournament admins screenshots of statuses, scoreboards and match results via Discord.

4.6 A delay of 5 minutes is allowed. If a team does not have all players on the server after 5 minutes, their opponents can claim a default win. A status screenshot needs to be sent to the tournament admins to claim a default win with the team claiming the default win having all 6 or 9 players on the server. If no team claims default win and the match has not started after 5 minutes, the game will be reported as a draw with the score 0-0.

4.7 If results are not reported when the round is set to end the match will automatically result in a draw with the score 0-0.

4.8 Teams are allowed to switch a maximum of 1 player during the course of the game at a maximum of 1 time.

4.9 Teams are not allowed to play with less than 4 (6v6) or 7 (Highlander) players.

4.10 No spectators are allowed on the server with the only exception being the tournament admins.

4.11 A team can request 1 pause per map. The pause may go on for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Please note: Golden cap is used for all matches in playoffs.


9. Cheats

9.1 No cheating of any kind is allowed.

9.2 The use of bugs is not allowed.

9.3 Scripts that allow a player to perform an action in-game that he would not be able to execute without the script, or scripts that purposefully disrupt the player hitbox, are banned. Scripts that freeze or glitch the player model (e.g. in mid-air to be less predictable) to make it harder to hit are also banned.


10. Admins

10.1 All communication with tournament admins will be on the Copenhagen Games 2019 TF2 Discord.

10.2 Admins are allowed to make changes to the rules and/or make final decisions on situations during the tournament that are not included in the written rules.

10.3 Any rule breaks will be punished by the admins. Penalties include, but are not limited to verbal warnings as well as defaulting rounds, maps or matches in favor of one team up to disqualification of a player or a team respectively. 


B Tournament (6v6) Rules

The Copenhagen Games TF2 main tournament rules apply in the B tournament as well, unless otherwise is stated in the following:


1. Eligibility

1.1. Only teams/players that have been knocked out of the group stages of the Copenhagen Games 2019 TF2 tournament are eligible to participate.


2. Signups

2.1. Team leaders must sign up their teams until Thursday, 18th April 21.00 CEST. To sign up please send a direct message via Discord to DCS with your team name and your roster.

2.2. If teams wish to drop out of the competition at any point, they are expected to contact an admin ASAP. In order to successfully drop out of the competition, you must provide the admin team with a beer.


3. Teams

3.1. Teams are allowed to have one merc by default and a maximum of two mercs with their opponent’s approval. A merc is considered to be eligible as a default merc if the player has not placed higher in the group stages of Copenhagen Games 2019 than the team he/she is supposed to merc for.

3.2. Players must use their real nicknames or a readable variation of it during the tournament matches.


4. Schedule



5. Delays

A team may be 5 minutes late to a match. After 5 minutes the team that is readied up and has 6 players on the server is eligible for a default win. The results of a game must be reported via Discord ASAP after the game ended with one status screenshot and a scoreboard screenshot of each map.

Teams may start ahead of schedule if they both agree and are ready to play.
