We are very pleased to announce that we be hosting solo and duo tournaments in Fortnite at Copenhagen Games 2020

 

General Structure for the Fortnite Tournaments

The solo and duo tournaments are a cross-platform BYOC tournament with the possibility to rent PCs on-site.

The tournaments will feature 98 solo participants/49 duo teams, and will be run on custom servers.

All participants must compete in both the solo and duo tournament.

The minimum age for a participant is 13 years old.

Please notice: Fortnite is a game that is under constant development, which means our tournament format and structure might need to adapt to the in-game changes.

If you want to participate in our Fortnite tournament, the participation price is 300DKK for each player.

 

FORTNITE SOLO TOURNAMENT

  • The Fortnite tournaments are open tournaments which means it won't contain qualification rounds.

Point system

The winner of the Fortnite Solo tournament will be decided based on a point system. Every participant must be in our Discord server, and follow the listed procedure to post results. All points that are posted without following the procedure will count as ineligible points.

 

Scoring system Solo:

Victory Royale = 10 Points

2nd - 5th = 7 Points

6th - 15th = 5 Points

16th - 25th = 3 Points

Each Elimination = 1 Point

 

Solos players will battle it out to gain points in a series of six (6) matches. Solo players will be ranked on a leaderboard based on the scoring system. At the conclusion of six (6) matches, and subject to the terms and conditions herein, the top ranked Solo players will be awarded prizes based on his or her placement on the Leaderboard. 

 

Prize pool

The following prizes will be awarded to each Solo player based on his or her placement on the Leaderboard at the conclusion of the Finals.

Copenhagen Games may, in its sole discretion, reorder the schedule and/or change the date for any match or session of the event (or change any game mode to be played in connection therewith). However, if the event schedule is to be modified, Copenhagen Games will inform all players at its earliest convenience.

 

Point system

Scoring system Duo:

FORTNITE TOURNAMENT RULES

Changes to the regulations

The tournament administrators reserve the right to alter any regulation at any time before or during the event if considered necessary. Any significant alterations or additions will be announced clearly in these regulations on https://copenhagengames.com.



Pictures

Any time during the tournament, your team can be asked to have photos taken for the production. If you refuse this request, you may be disqualified from the tournament.

 

Compliance

By participating in the Fortnite tournaments, the players accept the regulations mentioned above and below. Any decision made by the tournament administrators during the tournament may at any time supersede these regulations.

 

Behavior

We expect every participant to behave professionally and a sportsman-like conduct at all times. Matches lost on purpose, illegal use of a pause during a match and verbal or any other abuse of an opponent may result in penalties or disqualification from the tournaments. Poor behavior during or after the event may result in a ban from future events. We expect all players to behave in an exemplary manner and show understanding and patience towards their opponents as well as the administrators.

 

Tiebreakers

In the case of two participants/teams having an equal amount of points, the tiebreakers is as follows:

1. Kills of individual matches head-to-head.
2. Placement of individual matches head-to-head.
3. Amount of first places

Conflicts

If a conflict arises before, during or after a match, an administrator is contacted immediately to resolve the issue. If the conflict includes a complaint against an opponent, an administrator or anything else, the procedure of the next part applies. If the conflict arises during the game and demands immediately actions, then please contact an administrator.

Complaints

If a person wants to issue a complaint, the procedure is as follows: Discuss among yourselves what precisely your complaint is. Then direct your complaint to an administrator and explain your case. Make sure to have evidence to support your claims whenever possible. The accuser must at all times supply all necessary evidence (eg. in-eye demo) for the complaint to be evaluated fairly by the game administrators. The administrator will then contact the accused person/team and register their version of the case. Based on this information and in consultation with each other, the administrators then reach a verdict in the case. This verdict is final.

Penalties and disqualification

If rules are broken, referees can in unison with the tournament administrators apply penalties according to their judgment. Penalties that can be applied are the following; default loss, banning a player/team from the venue, disqualification of a player/team from the entire tournament or loss of prize money.

 

Demos & Screenshots

It is advisable, although not compulsory, to record demos and take screenshots of your matches. Having these will help support your case in the event of any dispute.

 

Streaming

It is required to follow the correct procedure to be approved as a streamer, said procedures can be found in the discord mentioned above.

As a streamer you are required to follow the rules listed below:

  • Every streamer needs to be approved by our technicians, more information can be found in the discord.
  • When streaming it is required to use a proxy.
  • During tournament matches it is required to have a 2-minute delay on your stream.
  • Copenhagen Games are entitled to use any footage broadcast by yourself regarding the tournaments.
  • To prevent stream sniping, it is required to hide the match queue while streaming.
  • It is forbidden to watch a stream during matches, this is to prevent stream sniping even if the stream is your own

 

Player eligibility


Barred from Epic games
A person is not eligible to participate if Epic Games has barred that person from future events for Toxic Behavior or any other violations.


Age

All participants must have a minimum age of thirteen (13) to be able to participate in Copenhagen Games tournaments.


Sign-in

A player MUST be signed up for the event and have paid the entrance-fee to play. A player MUST use the registered nick for the tournament matches. All players MUST have read and understood the regulations that apply to the tournament.

 

Client breakdown

If a player disconnects from the server due to technical reasons, he/she must contact an admin within the first 2 minutes or the first kill of the match. If the disconnect occurs later on or are not informed within the first 2 minutes, the match is continued without the missing player. 

 

Switch breakdown

If a switch breaks down during a match for any reason and 3 or more players are disconnected, regulations concerning server breakdown apply.

 

Server breakdown

In case of a server breakdown, he match will be restarted and kills and placements of that current match won't be saved.

 

After the match

All participants must upload a screenshot of the match when dead in order to get points for the tournament ladder.

Bullying and Harassment

Respect other people when chatting, playing or creating. Communicating or behaving in a way that is predatory, threatening, intimidating, disrespectful, offensive, derogatory, invasive of privacy, or abusive iare all against the rules.



Cheating and Trolling

Play fairly and within the rules of the game. Don’t cheat, grief, or exploit bugs and game outcomes impacting glitches.

 

Content

Intolerant or discriminatory content:

Hateful content that demeans or promotes intolerance of individuals or groups is not allowed.

 

Illegal or dangerous content:

We don't allow content involving or promoting illegall activities including gambling, drugs, fraud, hacking and piracy. Harmful content thay condones or incites violence to animals or people has also no place at Copenhagen Games.

 

Gambling:

Don't implement gambling or casino style games that involve real money or V Bucks.

 

Dangerous or illegal activities:

Respect local laws and don't participate in or encourage illegal or dangerous activities, including scamming, gambling, drug use, phishing etc. Threats of harm to yourself or others are taken seriously - don't make them, not even as jokes.

 

Impersonation:

Don't impersonate other users, streamers, celebrities or anyone else. Don't take credit of other users's creation. Pretending to be someone else in order to decieve or defraud others is not okay.
