Attention all Cosplayers!

We present to you all the rules for the Copenhagen Games cosplay contest 2020. Please read them all carefully if you are going to attend the contest!

We will also present the prizes and general information about how you sign up.

1st. 1500 DKK

3rd. 500 DKK

Entry:  

Entry to the competition is free, but registration is required. To register, send an email to mia@esport.dk using the subject "Cosplay". Please:

  • Write a short description(4-5 lines) about your costume, what you like about it the most, what was the most difficult thing to pull off, etc.
  • Attach one or more reference images showing the costume in as much detail as possible.
  • If you require a helper, please write their name, or alternatively, if you don't have a helper, but require help, note this in the e-mail and we'll help you out.

General (CONTEST)

  • The contest is made up of two parts - prejudging and the catwalk.

o   Pre-judging: Show and explain your costume to the judges.

o   Catwalk: Show your costume on stage in front of an audience.

  • Be mindful of the presence of under-aged audience members when choosing your costume.
  • Liquids, live fire, and reactive chemicals are not allowed on stage.
  • You do not need Danish citizenship to participate.
  • If you are between 16 and 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must submit a signed, written statement to the registration that they have read, understood, and agree to these contest rules with your entry, and that such agreement constitutes acceptance of these contest rules on behalf of you and themselves. 
  • Only official designs of the character are allowed.

o   This also applies to officially published illustrations (e.g. Alan Lee, Sakizo, Thores).

o   This does not apply to own designs, Genderbend or fanart (e.g. Gijinka), which are not allowed.

  •   Costumes must not have won in previous contests.
  •   Costumes must be made and worn by the participant themself; however, it is allowed to buy certain items (shoes, wig, etc.).
  •   Write a short text (4-5 lines) about your costume at the end of your application, e.g. what you love about it, what was the hardest to make, etc.
  •   Reference image(s) of cosplayed characters must be attached to the registration to ensure recognition of the costume. Make sure the reference images show as much of the costumes as possible for better assessment.
  •   If you need help with walking on and off stage, please inform us in the registration form in ‘remarks’, whether you want a friend or someone from the cosplay team.

General (SHOWCASE)

  • This will be a simple showcase of your costume to an audience on a stage, with no prices involved. This is a great way for new cosplayers to feel what it’s like to stand on a stage!
  • The showcase will happen right before the cosplay contest.
  • Be mindful of the presence of under-aged audience members when choosing your costume.
  • Liquids, live fire, and reactive chemicals are not allowed on stage.
  • All designs are welcome, whether it be official, unofficial or your own OC.
  • Costumes can be bought or made by yourself/friends/family. 
  • People of all ages are allowed to show their costumes. Children are allowed to be accompanied by a guardian on stage.
  • If you need help from the cosplay team with walking on and off stage, please inform us in the registration. 

 

Props

  •       Danish laws for weapons apply.
  •       Props brought on stage may not be made of metal.
  •       Props brought to the event may not be sharp or a risk to others.
  •       Props brought to the stage may not be longer than 3 meters. If the prop is longer than specified, please contact the cosplay team for approval.
