Final Invite Confirmed: Team Kinguin

Magnethead // 23/03-2018

Team Kinguin is a young team on paper but with an exciting lineup that practically oozes quality. It’s a team we are very excited about and even though they’re mainly untested, it’s a roster that should be respected by any team on the pro circuit.

A name that stands out, to us especially, is TaZ - the former Virtus.Pro star who won Copenhagen Games 2015. It wasn’t just any final back then either, it was one of the most inspiring and exciting finals we’ve had on stage. TaZ himself remembers the triumph well and he’s ready for a repeat.

"I'm very happy that we will be able to attend Copenhagen Games with Team Kinguin. I feel like it is great chance to show the talent that the guys have and push it all the way. We are a very young team, but last time I attended Copenhagen Games I managed to win it, so our aim is clear! I can't wait to step into the LAN game once again! Be sure to tune in, this Pinguin is planning to fly high!”, says TaZ.

Copenhagen Games 2018 will be Team Kinguin’s first LAN event and no one knows exactly what to expect of them. The lineup promises strength and talent but it’s early in the team’s lifespan and everything can happen. The team knows that this is the chance to show the world what they can do:

“We are extremely happy with this invite and we look forward to visiting Copenhagen in Denmark. It's a beautiful country and attending an event there makes it even better! This will be our first official LAN event with the new roster and we feel there is no better place to show off our skills”, says Giovanni Varriale, COO of Team Kinguin.

There could be a real fairy-tale hidden here but the competition is fierce. Plenty of teams in the Waoo CS:GO main tournament will have more experience than Team Kinguin, not just the three other invited teams but plenty of the highly talented teams that have signed up for the Open qualifier. Team Kinguin is ready for the task, however, and they’re not intimidated.

“We will go up against some really strong teams however we're calm and we will prepare to perform at our best for this event. We would like to thank Copenhagen Games for giving us a chance to show that we are a force to be reckoned with.”

Whether we will see a fairy-tale debut or not, this is a team that’ll excite and entertain our audience, that much we’re sure of. When TaZ won in 2015, it was before one of the largest crowds we’ve had at Copenhagen Games - this year could be even bigger. Team Kinguin is ready to reward and entertain the loyal CS:GO fans that show up to see them this Easter:

“We know how passionate fans from Scandinavia can be and we cannot wait to meet you all! This will be an exciting event and we will have a few goodies to giveaway at the event too”, says Giovanni Varriale.

With our four invites confirmed and our Open tournament sign-up closing Saturday, we’re all but ready for Copenhagen Games 2018 to kick off for real. In less than a week, the event opens and if you haven’t bought your ticket yet, now is definitely the time.

This promises to be an extremely exciting main tournament and we can’t wait to see all the loyal CS:GO fans in Bella Center very soon!
